CHC Names New Chief of Staff, CBC Chair Cedric Richmond Pens NFL Owners, and Menéndez Trial Proceeds

Donald Trump yesterday looked like the guy who mistakenly brought two dates to the same party. After Steve Bannon directed some criticism and threats to Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), this prompted Trump to say that he understands where Bannon is coming from with his war on the Republican establishment. But then, Trump stood side by side with McConnell in an impromptu Rose Garden appearance and the pair expressed that they’re a team. What’s not clear is who is the girlfriend and who is the side chick? Before we have another “I’m the real First Lady” incident, Trump will have to make a choice. For now, 45 has his hands full. A woman who said Donald Trump groped her has subpoenaed his campaign for documents about “any woman alleging that Donald J. Trump touched her inappropriately.” The president has denied her accusations and is fighting the subpoena. And after a stinging exposé on Sunday’s 60 MinutesCongressman Tom Marino (R-PA) is withdrawing his name from consideration as the administration’s drug czar. Meanwhile, former VP Joe Biden presented Senator John McCain (R-AZ) with the Liberty Medal yesterday. In his acceptance speech, McCain said, “To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century ...for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history." Regardless of where you fall on the political divide, only a moron could question McCain’s patriotism. If you’re unfamiliar with the sacrifices he made for the country, google him. And when you do, take note of the Google doodle! Twenty-eight years ago today, Selena Quintanilla’s released her first studio album, “Selena.” Google pays tribute. We’re kicking off Tuesday with this...
