Donald Trump’s new plan for ACA replacement? Threatening to kill a key portion of Obamacare, a low-income subsidy program. This could mean an immediate and fatal blow to the ACA marketplaces if he kills the subsidy program. That’s a really big deal. Without those subsidies, studies say insurers would have to hike up premiums by an average of 19 percent for typical policies. Many insurers would likely exit the marketplace altogether.
