The Spanish region of Catalonia has been rattled by two terror attacks and an explosion over the last few days. Three men have been arrested. A manhunt is underway for the fourth, and the NYT has the latest. Former President Barack Obama tweeted a message of support saying, “Michelle and I are thinking of the victims and their families in Barcelona. Americans will always stand with our Spanish friends. Un abrazo.” Donald Trump, on the other hand, took a different tone and pounced on the opportunity to call out “radical Islamic terrorism” and lashed out at the courts saying they should give “us” back “our” protective rights. Tough talk for these terrorists. But white supremacist terrorists get a breathing period and an eye wink before he addresses them. Speaking of, the mother of Heather Heyer -- the 32-year-old who was killed in the Charlottesville terrorist attack-- told ABC’s Good Morning America, “I won't talk to Trump after seeing him equate protesters like my daughter with neo-Nazis.” Guess it’s a good thing he never even bothered to make that phone call then. Just ten Republicans have spoken out against the president’s comments. That leaves a lot of other lawmakers whose silence could easily be mistaken for complicity. Where ya at GOP?? We hear we can expect the Republican party’s top officials and strategists to call for working with Trump on policy as soon as next week. Are we calling out racism or nah? Also, looks like the ACLU has had a change of heart as well. Kind of. According to the WSJ, they will no longer defend hate groups protesting with firearms. #FlashbackFriday: Remember on Monday when we thought the news from the weekend could not be topped?
