CBC Chair Shares Words with President, Warren Names POC Campaign Manager, and GOP Targets Susan Rice
Donald Trump’s $4.4 trillion budget proposal that he sent to Congress on Monday calls for drastic cuts to domestic programs and yuuge increases in military spending. FYI: this budget has zippy chance of passing in the Republican-controlled Congress. We take a look below at some of the domestic programs Trump wants to slash. As the immigration debate takes form in the Senate, POTUS45 was up early this AM saying March 5th will be the last chance to make a deal on DACA. Wellll, not quite. That deadline is not as firm as the president suggests; a federal judge in California last month ordered the Trump administration to restart the program. Still, the clock is ticking and hundreds of thousands of “Dreamers’” lives hang in the balance. More below on the immigration debate. A Senate Intelligence Committee hearing is underway this morning, where six of the top intelligence agency heads will testify. FBI Director Chris Wray will be in the hot seat, as he will face a lot of questions about security clearances for White House staff and the agency’s handling of the Russia collusion investigation. CIA Director Mike Pompeo will likely face some questions about his agency’s effort to thwart Russia’s efforts to influence the 2018 election cycle. Political science professor Thomas Brunell, a registered Republican with no government experience, has withdrawn from consideration to run the 2020 Census as Deputy Director of the Census Bureau. In campaign news, Republican Kevin Nicholson announced his bid to unseat incumbent Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI). But mom and dad say nope. His own parents donated the legal maximum to her primary campaign after he announced his candidacy. This afternoon, the Donald Trump and the First Lady host a National African American History Month reception. For real. As a reminder, here’s what last year’s looked like. Pay no attention to the woman behind the curtain on Celebrity Big Brother. Note the real Omarosa firmly planted at Donald Trump’s side in February 2017. It’s Fat Tuesday, y’all.
