Barack Obama and Eric Holder to Mobilize Black Voters, Bob Menéndez Back on Top, and Mia Love for Beyoncé

The House passed a stopgap bill last night that would fund the government through March 23rd. Doesn’t matter, though. The Senate, which claims to be approaching a deal to lift longer-term spending caps, will likely alter the House bill and kick it back to the lower chamber. Donald Trump said he’d love a government shutdown. Looks like tomorrow, he may get his wish. Hence, Dems have moved their retreat, which was scheduled to kick off today, from the Eastern Shore to the Capitol. Meanwhile, the president is under mounting pressure to allow the release of a Democratic rebuttal to the GOP memo that alleged bias in the FBI’s handling of the Russia investigation. He has until Friday to decide. Trump has also ordered the Pentagon to look into staging a parade to honor the military. Or is it for the military to honor him? Either way, the hefty price tag could be better used to address challenges vets are facing. Facts: Trump’s military initiatives have yet to show meaningful impact, and his campaign promises of expanding access to doctors and adding mental health specialists are unfulfilled. This morning -- not a peep or a tweet from POTUS45. Maybe he just found out that one of the five people Melania follows on Twitter is Barack Obama. We’re halfway through the week!
