Facebook Brings on Obama Alumna to Manage Public Policy
Facebook has named Monique Dorsainvil Public Policy Manager for External Affairs. Dorsainvil was most recently the Deputy Chief of Staff for the WH Office of Public Engagement where she worked under Valerie Jarrett. The Emory University graduate came to DC as an intern in the White House and never left. She was part of the team that helped repeal of the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and says an unforgettable moment with President Barack Obama was his response when she mentioned her girlfriend. “When I said ‘partner’ he did not even flinch,” she said. “He didn’t even blink. He just looked at me and said, ‘Oh, what does she do?’ That was his first question, and to me, that meant the world.” The California native has traveled to more than 25 countries but will continue to call DC her home as she will be based in Facebook’s DC office. Congrats, Monique! More about her here.
