Russian Diplomats Come for Morgan Freeman

Actor Morgan Freeman appeared in a video for the Committee to Investigate Russia that appeared on YouTube on Tuesday. Freeman states that 'we are at war' with Russia over its alleged interference in the 2016 US election and also discusses how Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly after 'revenge' against the United States. This prompted Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova to write in a Facebook post that “Morgan Freeman has been roped in, just like Colin Powell.” Zakharova goes on to discuss the 2003 incident in which then-Secretary of State Colin Powell presented a tube filled with white powder to the UN Security Council amid the United States push to invade Iraq. She wrote, “We will know who is behind this story sooner than we knew about the true contents of the infamous test tube.” The government-controlled TASS Russian News Agency headline further alleged that Freeman has been 'weaponized' against Russia. More here.
