Hurricane Relief Crews from Mexico Arriving to Help

Crews from Mexico are arriving in Texas as early as Wednesday to help with recovery efforts after Texas Governor Greg Abbott accepted Mexico’s offer of assistance, though the federal government has not. The offer for aid came in a statement Mexico issued responding to Trump's tweets on violence in Mexico, the border wall, and the trade deal between the two nations. The aid includes a caravan of 25 trailers carrying food supplies, as well as all-terrain vehicles, generators, mobile kitchens, and water treatment supplies and pumps. The aid will be distributed throughout Texas, and possibly Louisiana. Mexican consulates in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin have set up mobile units at shelters for hurricane evacuees. Mexican paramedics, doctors, and rescue teams are helping Hurricane Harvey victims. Mexico also sent significant help after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 as pictured. More here.
