Pelosi CoS, Nadeam Elshami, Joins SIGNAL Group
Nadeam Elshami, the Chief of Staff to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), is leaving the Hill to join SIGNAL Group as Executive Vice President, Politicoreports. Elshami is expected to be involved in the firm's communications and lobbying operation. Elshami epitomizes Drake’s “Started from the Bottom”: he began his Hill career working in the Senate mailroom and interning for a year and a half before former SenatorBarbara Boxer gave him his first break in her mail operations. He moved up the ranks, eventually serving as Boxer’s Deputy Press Secretary. He also worked as Senior Communications Advisor and Spokesman toSenator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Communications Director for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). In total, Elshami spent 25 years on Capitol Hill, including more than ten years for Pelosi. Born to Muslim parents in the U.S., Nadeam Elshami spent his early childhood in Egypt before returning to his native country permanently in 1982, settling with his family in Nashville, TN. The University of Evansville grad considered himself a Republican -- until he met his now-wife Stephanie, whom he credits with turning him into a Democrat. Now he's here indeed. Congrats, Nadeam!
