Warriors Will Skip WH and Meet DC Kids Instead

After winning the NBA championship last year, several Golden State Warriors preemptively said they would not go to the White House as is custom for professional athletes. Donald Trump then tweeted that he would not invite the Warriors to the White House, specifically after comments made by Steph Curry. Well, the Warriors have decided to make the most of their next DC visit on February 27th by going to an undisclosed location and meeting with DC kids instead. Head coach Steve Kerr left it up to the players to determine how they wanted to spend their time, and this is what they wanted to do. "It's their championship. They got disinvited to the White House, so it's up to them what they wanted to do. So they made their plans," Kerr told ESPN. "I want the players to have a good day and to do something positive and to enjoy what they're doing." While the event is closed to press, what about sports fans who cover people of color making an impact? More here.
