Super Bowl Bets Hit the Hill, While Eagles Give a Preemptive No Thanks on WH Invite
Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA) is due for some clam chowder. Ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl, he bet Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) that if the Eagles won, the Congressman would bring his fellow Dem some New England clam chowder. Had the Patriots won, Evans would have owed Moulton some Philly cheesesteaks from Dalessandro’s in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, several members of Super Bowl champions have already said that they will not visit the White House if invited by Donald Trump. Wide receiver Torrey Smith, defensive end Chris Long, and safety Malcolm Jenkins have all said they won’t be going. Given the divisive politics, perhaps these celebrations could be moved to Congress? Perhaps the players would not refuse an invite by the Congressional Black Caucus? There may even be some New England clam chowder in the deal. More here.
