New WH Deputy Press Secretary
The White House recently named Raj Shah as Deputy Press Secretary. Shah had previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Communications Director. His new position propels him to the number two slot in the White House press shop, a position formerly held bySarah Huckabee Sanders, who is now the Press Secretary. Shah’s promotion also makes him the most senior Indian American in the Trump White House. A graduate of Cornell, Shah co-founded the right-leaning opposition research firm America Rising LLC, where he developed the organization’s Hillary Clinton opposition research book. The 32-year-old was born to Indian parents who immigrated to the U.S. in the 1980s. He was raised in Connecticut. More here.
