Kihuen Accused of Sexual Misconduct By Second Woman
A second woman has come forward with accusations that Congressman Rubén Kihuen (D-NV) touched her inappropriately and made continued, unwanted advances towards her. The woman, who requested to remain anonymous because she is a Nevada lobbyist and fearful about being identified, says that Kihuen touched her “thighs or buttocks” on three separate occasions without her consent. She presented the Nevada Independent with text messages she received from Kihuen -- including “invitations to come sit on his lap in the middle of a committee hearing and repeated requests to spend the night at her place” -- that the then-state Senator sent her. In one instance, Kihuen texted her to ask, “What color are your panties?” When she wouldn’t tell him, he said it “Makes me sad ” and that “My day can’t go on without knowing.” She rejected or ignored Kihuen’s advances. The Congressman did not confirm nor deny the messages or behavior, saying: “During my ten years in the Legislature, I dated several different women. Out of respect for their privacy, I won’t discuss my communications or any other details of those relationships.” The woman told the Independent that she never dated Kihuen. Read more here.
