NBC Releases Latino 20 List
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, NBC has released their list of 20 Latino achievers who are working to move the needle in their respective fields. Among the honorees are César Francia, a former aide to Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, DC activist Carlos Mark Vera, LGBT and disability advocate Annie Segarra, Director of Legal Services for the Safe Passage Project Desireé Hernández, and others. “These honorees are fiercely proud of their heritage, which has informed and guided their work and inspired their accomplishments. Whether it be a park ranger or supermodel, a Harvard law professor or a student journalist, a philanthropist or marine scientist… these Latinos reflect the diversity of identities, backgrounds and talent that define and shape the U.S. Latino experience,” writes NBC.
