The Root 100

The Root has released their list of 100 influencers who they describe as the “Black brilliance has touched and shaped all facets of American society.” Topping this year’s list is Get Out Director Jordan Peele. Others on the list include NYT’s Yamiche Alcindor, commentator Angela Rye, writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, WaPo’s Wes Lowery, Uber’s Bozoma Saint John, activist Tamika Mallory, GA gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams,Colin Kaepernick, and many more. In the list’s release, The Root says “These 100 honorees -- culled from a list of hundreds -- in all ways, big and small, are moving this country, kicking and screaming all the way, to even greater heights.” See full list here.
