Google Names Global Head of Women and Black Engagement

Google has promoted Valeisha Butterfield to be its Global Head of Women and Black Engagement. The Clark Atlanta University graduate was most recently the head of Black Community Engagement. She has held a number of high-profile positions between NYC and DC. After college, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the President of HBO before jumping to serve as the Executive Director of Rush Communications. In 2009, she worked for then-President Barack Obama at the International Trade Mission at the Department of Commerce. And for the past ten years, she has served as CEO of Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) -- a nonprofit organization committed to supporting, promoting and defending the balanced, positive portrayal of women in entertainment and society. The North Carolina native is the daughter of Congressman G.K. Butterfield (D-NC). Congrats, Valeisha! More about her here.
