Digital Organizing Director (Boston, MA)
Senator Elizabeth Warren, a champion for working families, is looking for a Digital Organizing Director to join her 2018 re-election campaign.
In 2012, Elizabeth Warren built the biggest grassroots organizing campaign in Massachusetts history. In 2018, we’re going bigger. Our Digital Organizing Director will serve as a bridge between our Digital and Field teams to recruit and mobilize that volunteer army.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and produce compelling volunteer-focused email, texting, and social media campaigns and content with our Field team. You’ll lead the coordination our team’s work to promote canvassing/phone banking, trainings, town halls, house parties, and other event and volunteer opportunities.
- Help setting up RSVP pages in NGPVAN, Blue State Digital, and/or Eventbrite, and promoting those events via Facebook events, tweets, texts, and other digital platforms.
- Manage the testing and optimization of our online signup and volunteer processes (including onboarding emails, confirmation emails, action-based trigger replies, and other updates) to give our volunteers an easy user experience, and meaningful ways to help our campaign.
- Work with the Digital and Field teams to showcase the incredible work happening all across Massachusetts via email, social media, video, and more.
- Help train volunteers and other staff members to use digital organizing platforms, and provide ongoing guidance to the Field team on how to promote their work online.
- Perform other duties – digital and non-digital – for our scrappy team as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in digital and/or field organizing, preferably for a political campaign or advocacy organization.
- Experience working with NGPVAN/Votebuilder field technology and campaign CRM/CMS systems like Blue State Digital, Action Network, ActionKit, Nationbuilder, etc.
- Familiarity with SMS campaigns, Facebook groups, and emerging volunteer platforms like Slack, Hustle or Relay.
- Strong writing and proofreading skills for email copy, social media, SMS/texting, and blog/website content.
- Willingness to work long and unpredictable hours and pitch in wherever needed.
